Gary qualified as a physiotherapist in 1999 from the University of East London following an initial degree in Sports Science. Since qualification, he has worked extensively as a highly specialised neuro-musculoskeletal clinician both privately and to management levels within the NHS.
His experience includes 3 years at the Charlton Athletic Football Club academy in the early part of his career, time in Auckland, New Zealand working alongside the former chief Olympic and All Blacks physiotherapist, extensive clinical and teaching experience in the NHS and since 2007 providing and managing the physiotherapy provision at Excel Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Ltd.
He still gets involved in the teaching of local GPs and gives lectures/practical sessions to local sports clubs regarding injury prevention.
At Excel Gary treats a multitude of conditions from youngsters with sports injuries to 90+ year olds with aching backs. He has a special interest in the area of muscle imbalance with particular regard to spinal conditions and short/long term runners problems. He has been acupuncture trained since 2001 and is also qualified in the administration of cortisone (steroid) injections for inflammatory conditions/injuries.
